Go 'Naked' with Lush this Christmas

Many people will hate me for saying it, but you know Christmas is on the way when the Lush Christmas range is released – which is exactly what happened last week! Lush have always championed a ‘no fuss, no waste’ packaging approach, but this winter Lush are doing something a little bit different. This year they’ve found new ways to take things even more ‘naked’! All of Lush’s solid products need very little packaging to protect them, which means, as a consumer you are paying more for the ingredients inside, than some fancy packaging. This year, not only are Lush’s soaps and bath bombs packaging free, but also their shower gels, body conditioners and lip scrubs – genius! This equates to a whopping 80% of the Lush Christmas release being packaging free, let’s take a look at some of this year’s products!

Butterbear*
This cutey is called ‘Butterbear’, a gentle bath bomb made for even the most sensitive skins. He is made with Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Cocoa Powder and Ylang Ylang Oil. When you pop him in the water, he infuses your bath with a warm and creamy vanilla scent. He turns the water a milky colour and the fragrances of cocoa powder and calming ylang ylang is perfect for evening baths!

Shoot for the stars*
I absolutely love this bath bomb, it looks gorgeous and it works wonders in the bath too! This bath bomb is cobalt blue with pretty golden stars added in for good measure – so you can imagine the wonders this does in the bath! As the blue shade fills the bath, the honey-scented golden stars leave a lovely shimmer in the water. The scent is beautiful, thanks to the Brazilian orange and bergamot oils!

Man In The Moon*
When this one arrived, it took me a little while to work out what the design was – but it is in fact the face of the man in the moon! This is a bubble bar made with Neroli Oil, Lime Oil and Olibanum Oil – which are all fantastic for lifting the mood and fighting off the winter blues. Simply crumble this under running water as you run the bath, Man In The Moon will add a beautiful golden lustre to the water. Cocoa butter will leave your skin soft and the oils will help settle you if you’re feeling a little bit stressed.

Golden Pear*
Golden Pear is another one of my favourites this year and I’m so glad that it’s a soap! If you’re anything like me and love fruity, spicy scents in the winter, this one is made for you! The ingredients include Cardamom Oil, Organic Agave Syrup, Brazilian Orange Oil, Almond Oil, Sandalwood Oil, Creamy Coconut and Pear Puree – it’s like it’s been scent (get it) from heaven for my skin! As you use the soap it gently lathers on the skin, while the notes of pear and spices release as you bless the skin with murumuru butter! If you haven’t already guessed, I’m really impressed with this!

Bubbly*
If you thought shower gel without packaging was impossible, think again! This year Lush have gone all out and managed to create shower gels, without the bottles! You simply use your hands to work up a lather and then use the product in the same way, you would any other shower gel. There are a few different options from Lush this Christmas, I have Bubbly, which has Fresh Grape Juice, Lime Oil, Sweet Wild Orange Oil and Vine Leaf Infusion.

Once Upon A Time*
So, you’ve enjoyed a nice bath bomb, filled the bath with a bubble bar and enjoyed a naked shower gel! What’s left? Body lotion! Once Upon A Time is a solid body lotion, designed to be stroked onto the skin. The heat of your skin will melt the lotion, allowing you to use the apple-scented lotion anywhere you need an extra boost. I absolutely love the blend of grapefruit, apple and lemon in this, which feels really fresh, but still with a touch of winter smells.

This is a really impressive range from Lush this Christmas and all these products just scratch the surface with what else is on offer! The Christmas range is already available – grab your favourites from the Lush website, the Oxford Street store and all other Lush stores nationwide.
