Hand Soap Heaven from Roger & Gallet

It’s been a little while since I’ve had a little package from Roger & Gallet, so I was super excited to receive these beauties last week. If you’ve never heard of Roger & Gallet you have some serious catching up to do! The French brand has been around since the 1800’s and still delivers top quality products to consumers today. In 1879, the famous Roger & Gallet boutique on Rue Saint HonorĂ©, brought their first round of scented soap to life and you need to know all about it…

Back in the day, these soaps were a huge feat in beauty manufacturing, created by a unique handcrafted process known as the ‘cauldron’ method. Today the glorious Roger & Gallet Soaps* still exist and still boast the same unrivalled fragrance and delicate softness, thanks to the artisan tradition. Each soap takes a whopping 80 hours to create and is made in an intricate four step process. The soaps arrive in beautiful round, which is actually inspired by the iconic French macaroon – they certainly know the way to my heart!

They are actually made from 100% natural essences, with a rich composition of vegetable base, which makes it fully biodegradable. Once each soap is made it is wrapped exquisitely in a pleated in silk-paper and given the seal of approval with a Roger & Gallet sticker. I’ve had these soaps floating around my house for years – not only do they look beautiful, they smell beautiful too. Leaving each room smelling beautiful, no matter how long you leave it there! Plus, it’s always nice to present your guests with something a little bit fancy when they stay.

The soaps are pretty hefty, weighing in at 100g each – which Roger & Gallet say will last you for one hundred showers! These lovely soaps are available in seven classic Roger & Gallet fragrances, meaning there is something for everyone, no matter your mood! My favourites are  Fleur de Figuier (a fresh and crisp fig fragrance), Fleur D’osmanthas (which is a mix of grapefruit, mandarin and benzoin) and Rose (which captures the radiant freshness of the Nepalese rose).

It’s no surprise that one million of these soaps are sold every year around the world. They are available from Marks & Spencer nationwide, priced £6.50 each or £15.00 for a three soap gift set.
