Four Easy Tips For A 10-Minute Makeup Look

Whilst I like to give myself all the time in the world to get ready in the morning, the fact of the matter is that sometimes it just doesn’t happen. More often than not, I’m scrambling to do my mascara, whilst packing a lunch and running out the door to catch a train. Today I thought it would be fun to share my 10-minute makeup look, complete with hacks and fabulous products to get yourself ready in a rush.

A perfect base, which is lightning quick!
Let’s start at the beginning and talk about the perfect base! When I’m in a rush, I tend to opt for a BB Cream formulation. I find they tend to take less blending and thus, are much quicker to apply. Recently I’ve been taking the Balance Me BB Cream* on a damp beautyblender. It is a really high‐tech, nutrient-rich natural formula – which primes, moisturises, soothes and hydrates the skin. It’s even packed with SPF25, which offers protection from both UVA and UVB rays, without any whitening on the skin. It’s available in a single universal tint suitable for skin tones, so it gives the perfect finish on the skin and you can achieve it in no time at all!

The concealer that does it all!
For concealer, I’m normally a high-end girl, but recently I’ve really been enjoying the Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer. I love that all you have to do is click the applicator and then draw it under the eyes. The sponge on the top does a lot of the blending for you and then you just have to give it a helping hand. It’s a really pigmented formula, which means you can get the coverage you need, in what feels like a nanosecond. Although the product is named after your under eyes, I find that this actually works all over the face, which is perfect!

The colour-infused papers for quick application!
Now let’s talk colour and my latest obsession from Mai Couture. These infused papers make for a really quick makeup look but without compromise. The Mai Couture Highlighter Infused Papers* (available from Beauty Mart) have been designed to give you a glowing from within glow. They give you a lovely boost of glow, without clogging up your pores. The Mai Couture Blusher Infused Papers* (available from Beauty Mart) have been designed to make blusher compact and portable – whilst still offering a natural cheek colour. So how do you use them? Well you simply tear the sheet in half and then pat, sweep and blend the glowing onto the cheeks. I thought these would be impossible to use, but it’s actually a really simple process! You get 30 sheets of the highlighter paper and 50 sheets of the blush paper in each pack, which means these beauties last ages! They are not tested on animals, plus they are totally recyclable, biodegradable, paraben free, and talc free.

Find a palette that has everything you need!
The final way that I really speed up my makeup is by picking palettes that have everything you need. I find that this way, you can just pop a palette on the top of your dressing table and do your whole makeup in minutes. It works really well, as you don’t have to keep switching between palettes, but also, it stops you getting distracted with the rest of your stash. I’ve recently been enjoying the PUR Goal Digger Palette* - when you pop open the lid you’ll find four eyeshadows, a blush, bronzer and highlighter – which just makes everything really quick and easy!

I’d love to hear about your own makeup tips in the comments below, what do you do with your makeup when you’re stuck for time?

Summer Curl Kits from Boucléme

If you’ve managed to miss my obsession with Boucléme, let me quickly fill you in! Boucléme are a fabulous curly hair brand, created by a fellow curly hair lady - Michele Lynch-Scott. She is so passionate about creating great products for curly hair and it really shows. The products are high quality, they perform well and they also smell amazing! If there is one time of year that us curly curls need to give our hair some TLC, it’s definitely the summer. I know with my hair often turns into a dry and frizzy mess. Especially when it’s exposed to heat, humidity, air conditioning and chlorine. To help summer-proof your hair, Boucléme have released the Summer Curl Kits….

The kits come in two variants, the Essential and the LUXE, which both come in three different variants. There is the Moisture Must Haves Kit, the Holiday Hydration Kit and the Summer Saviours Kit. The kits have been designed to give you everything you need, whether you are travelling afar or simply packing for a weekend closer to home. I’ve been playing with the Boucléme Holiday Hydration Essential Kit*, which is packed with mini versions of the Curl Cleanser, the Curl Cream and the Curl Defining Gel.

The products in this kit are all products I’ve used before and each take pride of place in my hair routine! The non-foaming Curl Cleanser cleanses the scalp and hair without upsetting the natural moisture balance. It uses a blend of argan, coconut oil, aloe vera, linseed and pomegranate extracts – which as you can imagine, creates a really nourishing and moisturising mix. The Curl Defining Gel works to smooth your hair, with a nourishing gel that defines your curls without leaving them flaky or sticky. Finally, we have the Curl Cream – made with coconut oil, coconut fruit extract, kukui oil, shea butter and castor oil. The cream is very versatile and really does it all you need it to do, reviving lacklustre curls by injecting shine into the hair. It’s also designed to banishes frizz, leaving curls smooth and bouncy.

In case you’re wondering, Bouclème are just as passionate about the planet as they are about curly hair. The products contain no chemical nasties and are only ever tested on real curls, not animals. The new Summer Kits are available now from the Bouclème website. The kits are priced at £23 for the Essential Kits and £48 for the LUXE Kits.

The Bioderma Photoderm Suncare Range | SPF

When it comes to buying SPF there are certain “must-haves” on my list. First of all the range has to be applicable for my sensitive skin – there is nothing else than greasy creams that make my skin breakout. Secondly, the ingredients need to be reputable, yet affordable I don’t mind paying a little bit more, but I really don’t want the SPF to break the bank! The good news is that in 2017, we have a lot of choice and I’m here today to tell you a bit about the Bioderma Photoderm Suncare Range*.

Bioderma is a name that is well known across the beauty industry, yes we all know about the famous micellar water, but do you all know about their fabulous SPF range? Well, since the 1970s, Bioderma has acquired a lot of skincare knowledge, which has helped us tackle some of the most common concerns. Through their intensive research, Bioderma know that no skin is the same and the Photoderm SPF range offers a solution to this! All their products have been made with different types of skin in mind, whilst offering the best UVA/UVB protection.

Bioderma Photoderm Max*
First up let’s talk about Photoderm Max, which is Bioderma’s sun care range which has been made for everyone. First of all, it offers a very high sun protection factor (SPF 50+), which blocks 98% of UVB rays – which is fantastic for me as my skin burns so easily! However, the best thing for me is that it comes in several different formulations. The range includes several options for face and body, as well as a spray formulation and a mousse for children. Here I have two different items from the range. First up the Photoderm Max Spray* (£17 here) which is a really light textured spray that spreads very easily, leaving no oily film or white marks. I also have the Photoderm Max Aquafluid* (£13 here) which is a really unique formulation. It’s an extreme fluid texture, but all with a dry touch finish and still a very high protection factor.

Bioderma Photoderm Bronz*
The other range I’ve been testing is Bioderma Photoderm Bronz, which offers you really high protection on the skin, but with an added tan booster. It’s been especially made for all skin types and once again offers a range of different formulations. I’ve been testing the Photoderm Bronz Dry Oil* (£19.50 here) which gives you the option to tan safely, thanks to it’s medium protection. It’s a lovely transparent formula, which you need to apply liberally all over the face and body. The magic ingredient Tyrosine to increase the level of melanin production in the skin, helping boost the skin’s ability to bronze as naturally as possible.

If neither of these ranges sound right for you, there is also the Photoderm Specifics range, which offers you high protection (SPF 50+) but is perfect for those with specific skin intolerances. The full Bioderma Photoderm range is available in Boots and lots of other stockists all over the UK, so it’s really easy to get hold of and I always find it on offer! I’d love to hear about your favourite SPF’s in the comments below!

An Introduction to IT Cosmetics | Brand Focus

I’m convinced that if you’re a beauty buff, you need no introduction to IT Cosmetics. US beauty brand, IT Cosmetics, was founded by Jamie Kern Lima and is based in New Jersey. Their aim? To create ‘game-changing products’ with the help of plastic surgeons. Until very recently British beauty fans went to great lengths to ship IT cosmetics to the UK, but they can now recoup their customs costs! They have officially launched in the UK at Selfridges, creating the world’s first ever IT Cosmetics department store counter and I’m here to give you the full low-down! Let’s take a look at some of my favourite products and why I love them as much as I do.

IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ SPF 50+ cream* (£30 here)
It doesn’t get much more famous than the Your Skin But Better CC+ SPF 50+ cream, a full coverage colour-collecting cream. It’s the most incredible multi-tasker, offering you full coverage in a CC cream formulation – which means it’s light and airy on the skin. The ingredients in this mean it’s far from your “average CC cream”. A unique blend of hydrolyzed collagen, peptides, niacin, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants plus vitamins A, B, C and E, come together to make an anti-ageing hydrating serum. It all comes in a handy tube, meaning that it’s easy to travel with and you can savour every last drop.

IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection Brush* (£34.50 here
Until this arrived I actually had no idea that IT Cosmetics created brushes and tools, so the Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection Brush was a pleasant surprise! You can use the large end to apply your foundation and then flip it round to the micro-end for accurate precision. What I love about this is that it’s the perfect travel companion, so you only have to pack one brush and cover all of your base. `It’s a really lovely soft brush and it looks gorgeous too!

IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness Correcting Cream* (£25 here
When I saw The Anna Edit raving about this cream, I knew I’d be totally sold! As someone with a red-like-beetroot face, I’m always desperate to get my hands on something it will tone it down a bit. The Bye Bye Redness Correcting Cream acts quickly to cancel redness from your face. It’s packaged with lovely ingredients such as anti-aging peptides, colloidal oatmeal, collagen, aloe and avocado, which all work to keep the skin calm and neutralised. It also has an element of coverage to it, meaning that you could use this as your base, or layer it under your foundation.

IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder* (£25 here)
There’s a lot to be said for finding your perfect pressed powder, so I never turn down the chance to try something new! As the name suggests, the Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder aims to blur the appearance of your pores and other perfections. It does this by using a blend of peptides, silk, collagen and antioxidants, which each work together to create a youthful finish! I’ve found that it also blurs imperfections and does a great job at keeping my skin matte. If you’re someone who has to top-up your powder, you’ll be pleased to see that it has a mirror in the compact, making it an handbag essential.

IT Cosmetics Ombré Radiance Blush* (£21 here
Quite possibly the prettiest product in the collection, is the Ombré Radiance Blush. I mean the words ‘ombre’ and ‘blush’ already had me sold, but this is a really lovely blush. It’s another fantastic multi-tasker, blending together a beautiful blush and a stunning highlighter into one handy compact. Simply pop your chosen shade onto your cheeks for a pretty flush of colour – it’s completely talc free and lets you fully customise the finish you desire.

IT Cosmetics Brow Power Lift Pencil* (£18 here
Of course, the brow trend is still going strong throughout 2017 and so I couldn’t resist the chance to see what IT Cosmetics had to offer. The first product from their ‘Brow Power’ collection is ‘Power Lift’. It’s a handy pencil which helps the skin to look more lifted, so you can actually use this all over the face, wherever you want a little bit of extra help! It will gently brighten the area in question and help to diffuse the look of a fine line or wrinkle.

IT Cosmetics Brow Power Waterproof Perfector* (£18 here
The other brow product I’ve been testing out is the Brow Power Waterproof Perfector. It’s a really lovely powder-gel pencil, which glides on to the brow with no fuss at all. It’s a thin pencil, so it’s perfect for mimicking the look of real hair, for the perfect natural brow. It comes in loads of shades and I have the shade ‘Dark Brown’ which is a perfect match for me! You only need a very light tough as it’s highly pigmented and costs every hair (I’m told it even covers greys)!

IT Cosmetics Superhero Mascara* (£19 here
The last product in this lovely list is the Superhero Mascara, which came with a firm recommendation from none other than Really Ree. This lovely mascara arrives in a sleek, glossy, black packaging and boasts the most lovely formulation. The formula aims to give you super volume, length and stretch, using lash-lifting polymers, volumising collagen, strengthening biotin, proteins and peptides combined with extreme black pigment. Just one coat gives you the most beautiful, dramatic lashes, all the way from the root to tip!

I would love to know what you think of IT cosmetics, have you always been a fan of the brand, or are they new to you? Which of these products would you want to try first?

Four Reasons I Love Afternoon Tea | The BuyAGift Teamoji Petition

In case you didn’t know, this week is officially Afternoon Tea Week - I know right, it has its very own week! Those who know me (or follow me) all know that Afternoon Tea is quite frankly one of my favourite things. This post was created in collaboration with BuyAGift, who many of you know are one of my favourite brands. They’ve just started a petition to create a tea cup emoji, which is very much missing in the world, you can learn more about this here. It inspired me to write about my love for Afternoon Tea – I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wanted a tea emoji on Instagram! So today I’m sharing four reasons I love Afternoon Tea and why I think you need to try it!

The locations
One thing I love about Afternoon Tea is the variety of different locations, which really encourages you to get out and see a different part of the country! Some of my favourite locations include The Luton Hoo, where the tea is set in their grand ballroom. There is also the Sanderson Hotel, where you can dine in their beautiful garden, or the Macdonald Hotel in Marlow, which let’s dine next to the river! You can even have Afternoon Tea on a London Bus, or even on a boat on The River Thames – honestly, once you delve into the options, you’ll find it hard to pick!

Different themes
Whilst you can’t beat the classic Afternoon Tea, I personally love trying something a little bit different. Some brands have really gone to town by bringing an Afternoon Tea theme to life and it’s really impressive to see! The Hilton Hotel on Park Lane are always quick to try a theme, whether it’s Mothers Day, Valentines Day, Easter or Christmas – they often have you covered. If you’re a film buff – you could try the Sanderson’s Mad Hatter's Tea Party, or even try the Beauty and the Beast themed tea. If you’re into fashion, chocolate or makeup there’s sure to be a theme for you! Some brands have even created Gentleman’s Afternoon Tea, which includes beer and scotch eggs!

Trying different teas
The average Brit consumes 3 cups of tea a day, yet if you’re anything like me, your tea cupboard isn’t that exotic! Sure, I have English Breakfast and a couple of mint teas, but it’s rare that I experiment much further in the supermarket. One thing I love about Afternoon Tea is that you get to try something a little bit different. For example, I discovered the Queen Of Hearts tea at the Sanderson’s Mad Hatter's tea party and I discovered Twinings Nutty Chocolate Tea at the Chocoholic Afternoon Tea at the Hilton on Park Lane

Did I mention cake?
I couldn’t finish this blog post without mentioning cake! Sure, I love the sandwiches – which actually get pretty elaborate, but for me it’s all about the sweets. Nothing beats a fresh, warm scone, which has been effortlessly topped with loads of clotted cream. However, when you chuck in a little chocolate cake, a Victoria sponge, or a couple of macarons – I’m literally in heaven!

I’m totally on board with BuyAGift’s campaign to create a tea emoji, as me and my tea loving friend always complain that one is missing! More than six billion emoji’s are sent around the world everyday and I think it’s a shame that tea is missing out on that action! I highly recommend signing the petition and I highly recommend checking out BuyAGift for awesome Afternoon Tea offers. 7 tips to make your makeup last all day

It’s officially August, which means the holiday season is officially here! Whether you’re jetting off to the USA, or praying for some sun here in the UK, you may be wondering how you can stop your makeup running off your face. For years I battled with this, always struggling to keep my makeup a puddle-free zone. The good news is that I now think I’ve somewhat mastered it and I’m here to share some tips with you!

Tip #1 – Prime Your Base
Let’s start right at the beginning and talk about makeup preparation! Makeup that sticks around all starts right at the base and it’s important to give it a little bit of a helping hand. I never used to use primers, as I really hate the feel of silicones, but there are so many silicone-free primers available now! If you’re looking for something on the high street, I highly recommend the L'Oreal Paris LumiMagique Primer*. What I love about this one is that it’s incredibly light, but leaves the skin looking illuminated and glowing – just what you want on holiday! My favourite primer though is the Too Faced Hangover Primer which, although pricey, really packs a punch! It’s a beautiful blend of coconut water, probiotic based ingredients and skin revivers that work together. Once you’ve applied a layer of this onto the skin, not only does your makeup stick around all day, but you look more radiant and your skin looks plump and hydrated.

Tip #2 – Apply foundation in light layers with a beautyblender
I used to think that to make your makeup stick around, you needed to apply a nice thick layer to skin. When in fact all it achieved was a really thick, cakey finish, which practically peeled off the skin. I’ve found in recent years that it’s actually all about the light layers, which you then gradually build up. I’ve personally found the best way to do this is with a beautyblender* – it allows your foundation to really bed into the skin, giving you a perfect finish without heavy finish. Simply wet your sponge and then ‘bounce’ on your foundation, for a glowing finish that lasts and lasts.

Tip #3 – Use cream eyeshadow to help your eye look to stick around
Another misconception that I used to have, is that anything cream based would slip and slide around my face. When in fact, the cream products are the ones with the best staying powder! When I’m away I tend to reach for a product like the Cream Eyeshadow Sticks by Rosie for Autograph*. I essentially draw the crayon all over the eye and then blend out the edges, they glide on so smoothly and the formula feels like butter. If I’m out in the day I leave it there, the pigment lasts all day and doesn’t crease in the heat. If I’m going out in the evening, I’ll apply powder eyeshadow over the top and the cream eyeshadow keeps everything in place.

Tip #4 – Always opt for a waterproof mascara
Now I always choose a waterproof mascara whatever the weather, but in the heat, it’s more important than ever. I have to admit that I’ve tried a lot of waterproof mascaras in my time, but my favourite right now is the Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara*. Of course this Too Faced mascara needs very little introduction, so I was really happy to see that there is a waterproof version. The mascara offers extreme volume and dramatic lashes, plus you can add layer after layer for even more dramatic effects! This is the first waterproof mascara I’ve found that offers the waterproof aspect, without compromising on quality.

Tip #5 – Use matte liquids to give your lips some staying power
Of course, your lips need a little bit of help no matter where you are, but there is nothing worse than a smudged lip to ruin your holiday snaps. I’ve found that the best way to avoid this is using a matte liquid lip, such as the Sleek Matte Me Liquid Lip Gloss*. They glide onto the lips in one easy application, it then sets in place and doesn’t cake, flake or dry out. It’s a very quick and easy way to give yourself a comfortable lip that wears all day long!

Tip #6 – Always set your makeup in place
If there’s one thing I’ve learnt and stuck by, it’s setting my makeup in place every single day, so there’s no way I’ll be skipping it in the warmer climates! My favourite product for this is the Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder* - which I’ve not been without since 2014! One swoosh of this powder enhances the hold of your makeup for 16 hours. It’s translucent, so it doesn’t spoil your base and it’s even packed with SPF30. It's incredibly fine, so I just use a fan brush to apply the setting powder and it keeps my makeup in place all day, every day. It's a lifesaver! A fantastic high street alternative is the Rimmel Insta Fix & Matte Powder which again is a translucent pressed powder, offering a matte finish. It perfects the skin and leaves it looking mattified all day.

If you’re more of a setting spray fan (I personally do both in the heat), you’ll love the Laura Geller Spackle Mist*. It’s a fantastic all-rounder that primes, sets and refreshes makeup – in just one, easy step – anytime, anywhere. What I love about this is that you it instantly absorbs into the skin, meaning that with on spritz you’re good to go, without spoiling your makeup underneath! It uses Aloe Vera Extract to repair and moisturise, Caffeine to reduce puffiness, plus loads of other lovely ingredients.

Tip #7 – Blot, blot, blot…
Despite blotting powders being the oldest trick in the book, it took be a long time to even realise they existed! I actually remember walking around 40-degree heat in Washington, dabbing myself with a tissue that then dispersed all over my face! Blotting papers like the Mary Kay Beauty Blotters* make blotting incredibly simple, giving you the ability to remove oil, without disturbing your makeup. You simply lay them over the skin and the papers instantly absorb excess oil. It’s such a genius idea, yet so many people neglect this step in their routine!

So there you have it, my top seven tips for keeping your makeup in place all day long! If you have any extra tips, I’d love to hear about them in the comments below!

butter LONDON | A brand focus

butter LONDON was founded back in 2005 when a beauty-obsessed British entrepreneur (Sasha Muir) and a premier fashion manicurist (Nonie Creme), catapulted butter LONDON onto the runway. Sasha had a dream to create a refreshingly hip and haute nail brand, which had the air of fashion sense. The new approach and the exciting formulation meant that butter LONDON quickly became the first world-renowned, high-fashion 3-free nail lacquer brand. Today butter LONDON is well loved by beauty obsessives, who love their beautiful colours and formulations that actually leave our skin in good condition. Today I’m really excited to bring you a butter LONDON brand focus, with the products that you really need to write home about.

Let’s start with the butter LONDON Trend Nail Lacquer* (£12 each) which is available in a whopping 38 shades. The Trend Nail Lacquer was created for the catwalk – all thanks to the high pigmentation and the high shine finish, which resists chips. The formula boasts an ‘8-free’ formula, which keeps all the nasties (Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, DBP, Toluene, Camphore, Ethy Tosylamide, Xylene, TPHP) out of our nail polish. They are also enriched with Hydrolyzed Silk, Horsetail Extract, plus Vitamins B, C and E - which help to promote nail strength.

The butter LONDON Patent Shine 10X Nail Lacquers* (£15 each) was the next advancement from butter LONDON and is available in 30 shades. These were a commitment to creating safe and effective nail polish, which offers 10 incredible features. The product promises to offer up to 10 days of wear, which is chip and shock resistance, all in a gel-like formulation. An even colour coverage thanks to its curved, dense brush, which is resistant to fading over time. It is enriched with Bamboo Extract (to help protect nails and defend against damage), Silk Amino Acids (to help smooth the surface of nails), plus horse tail extract and calcium (which work to strength the nails). The colours are even enriched with Diamond Powder to instantly brighten nails and of course have butter LONDON’s famous 8-Free Formula.

As well as nail colour, butter LONDON also create a range of treatments which are celebrated for astounding results without compromise. All of the treatments have recently been repackaged, so they look better than ever! I’ve been testing the P.D Quick Dry Conditioning Drops* (£15) which work to dry your nails as quickly as possible. It does this by using an innovative dry oil serum, which protects against smudges. As you can guess, the ingredients are lovely and include Rose Hip Seed Oil, which conditions cuticles for a healthy looking manicure.

The Patent-Gel Top & Tails Set* (£32) is butter LONDON’s answer to making your manicure really last. They have created the Patent-Gel Top & Tails Set to give you a patent-leather shine, without harmful ingredients or UV lamps that you need in a gel manicure. Simply use the top coat and base coat to protect your nails from nicks and chips – it even locks in colour for a long lasting manicure. Of course, as it’s made by butter LONDON, it is a 8-free formulation, but it is enriched with Vitamins E, A, C & B5 to strengthen and protect nails.

So there you have it, lots of lovely butter LONDON products which I’ve been loving trying over the last few weeks. These are only a small collection of what they have in offer, so if you like them, I highly recommend checking them out. You can shop butter LONDON at Marks and Spencer, Look Fantastic, Beauty Bay and Amazon. I’d love to know in the comments below which product you’d consider trying first!

Have A Heart | Mary Kay Baked Blusher

If you’re looking for something super damn cute to buy, I can guarantee that these baked blushers will be a firm favourite for you! Not only do these blushers from Mary Kay look cute, but they also perform beautifully and are strictly limited edition. Keep reading to see why I love them so much…

When the Mary Kay Baked Cheek Powder* arrives in its box, it looks just like any other Mary Kay product. The boxes are pretty and pink, the compact is black and glossy, both decorated with the Mary Kay logo. However, when you pop open the lid on the Mary Kay Baked Cheek Powder, you’re greeted by something really cute! Each shade of the Baked Cheek Powder is limited edition and has been designed to add the perfect pop of colour on the cheeks.

There are two different shades to choose from – Kind Heart* and Giving Heart*. Kind Heart has been designed to give your cheeks a gorgeous peachy glow, whilst Giving Heart is a lovely flush of colour in pretty pink. Of course, you can wear each shade alone, or layer and pair the two shades together for something more unique to you!

The shades are super pigmented and they leave your cheeks glowing too, meaning you get that effortless ‘glowing from within’ look, that we all desperately crave! They apply like a dream and blend out effortlessly, which makes them easy to apply, whether you’re at your dressing table or on-the-go. I’ve worn both shades a lot over the last couple weeks and I think they look fabulous both in the day and in the evening, thanks to the lovely wash of iridescent shimmer which creates a striking highlight.

The Mary Kay Baked Cheek Powders retail for just £15, which I actually think is a very reasonable price tag! The best thing is that with each purchase of these blushers, Mary Kay makes a donation to the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity, which provides support to families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness. So, what are you waiting for?! Don’t miss your chance to add these lovely blushers to your makeup stash!

New Monsoon Home Fragrance Collection | Seaspray & Cotton

I know I’m not alone when I say I’m a little bit obsessed with home fragrance. Whether it’s a new candle, or my latest obsession with diffusers – I’m always testing and trying new scents. So, when I saw that high street retailer, Monsoon, had announced the launch of their first-ever range of home fragrances – I was totally sold! Keep reading for the full low down and why you’re going to need these beauties...

Being Monsoon, I knew this new home fragrance collection wouldn’t disappoint – from start to finish the whole experience is so unique and luxurious. The beautiful collection has everything you need to feel calm and leave your home smelling glorious. Both the diffusers and candles arrive in stunning heavy glass containers, which gives you that premium feel from the minute you pick up the box. On the front of each product these is an iconic Monsoon metalwork pattern, which changes colour depending on the scent you’ve picked. It’s an absolutely stunning design, which will fit into any home and every style of home décor.

The candles* are square, with a stunning metal lid that sits on the top – which is the attention to detail we’ve come to expect from the really premium brands. The diffuser* is also square, but in more of a jar design so that the diffuser sticks can sit delicately in the top. I’ve had both products sitting in my lounge for a week and I think they are utterly gorgeous – a real touch of fashionable home glamour!

There are four scents to choose from in the collection: Amber & Frankincense, Seaspray & Cotton, Grapefruit & Vetivert, plus Bergamot & Fig. I was really lucky and have had the chance to try the Seaspray and Cotton range*, which is just a really beautiful scent. As you would guess, it’s a marine fragrance with notes of a salty oceanic mist, fresh cotton, green moss, seaweed and musk. It is a really perfect ‘fresh’ scent, which just makes your home smell clean and tidy. I have to say that the minute I opened the diffuser it wafted all the way through the flat, with the aroma following you from room to room.

I’m really impressed with the new Monsoon Home Fragrance Collection, not only does it look premium, it also acts like a premium product too! All the soothing candles and uplifting diffusers launched back in June, so it’s officially possible to get your hands on them! Each candle and diffuser is available from Monsoon stores, or the Monsoon website, both priced at £17 each.

Glycolic Fix Foaming Pads | New from Nip+Fab

If you’re a frequent reader of my blog, you won’t be surprised by my love for Nip+Fab. In fact, the Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix range is quite the staple in my routine, with lots of the products having pride of place on my dressing table. The Glycolic Fix range is a Nip+Fab best-seller, offering deep exfoliation and a beautiful new texture on the skin. Every product in the range contains glycolic acid as the hero ingredient, as it’s fantastic at increasing cell renewal and deep cleanses pores. It even does a great job to keeping blemishes at bay and evening our skin tone – so it’s fantastic for oily skin like mine!

The Glycolic Fix pads are a firm part of my weekly routine, so when I spotted the brand new Glycolic Fix Foaming Pads*, I knew I had to try them! The new Glycolic Fix Foaming Pads arrive in similar packaging to the original pads, featuring shades of orange a blue. The pot is much taller than the original pot and has 30 pads stuffed inside. The new Glycolic Fix Foaming Pads are a new double-sided pad, offering you twice the action than ever before!

The Glycolic Fix Foaming Pads are each enriched with 2% glycolic acid and soaked with lots of other moisture-rich ingredients. On one side of the pad you have the textured surface, which is fantastic for exfoliation. On the other side, you have the smooth side, which you use to polish the skin and lift away dirt, oil and impurities. Simply massage the pad in a circular motion onto damp skin. As you rub the Glycolic Fix Foaming Pads on the skin, you instantly see the foam activate – use both sides of the pad before rinsing the foam off with water. The lovely thing is that even with the foaming action, the pads gently cleanse the skin without drying it out or leaving it sore. This is thanks to the addition of hyaluronic acid which hydrates the skin as it works.

I’m loving these new Glycolic Fix Foaming Pads, which I bring out when my skin needs a little bit of extra help. You’re left with lovely feeling skin, which has a lovely radiant complexion! They retail for £14.95 a pot, which gives you 30 applications, so they are pretty budget-friendly, hurrah! You can pick them up here from the Nip & Fab website.

The Graphik Collection from Clarins | Autumn Winter 2017

There is always something so special and pretty about Clarins makeup. The packaging is always so pretty and the formulations inside are pretty damn good too. The good news is that the new Autumn/Winter collection doesn’t disappoint! It’s called the ‘Graphik Collection’ thanks to its focus on graphic lines, but it doesn’t stop there! Let’s take a look at what you can expect from Clarins this Autumn…

Ombre Matte Eyeshadow* (£19)
If you’ve followed my blog for a little while, you might remember a rave review of the Clarins Ombre Matte Eyeshadow. They are a really lovely, innovative cream-to-powder formula, which means you get the comfort of a cream formulation, but with the quality and hold of a powder formula. They arrive in a Clarins red box and inside you’re greeted with a glass tub, finished with a gold lid and a white Clarins logo. It feels really fancy and the formula inside just tops off the experience! For Autumn/Winter Clarins have created the shade Midnight Blue (shade 10) which is a rich iridescent midnight blue shade. It’s one of those colours that everyone needs in their collection, as it effortlessly creates a sultry smoky eye.

Blush Prodige* (£27)
I think the new shade of Blush Prodige is quite frankly my favourite piece from the collection. First of all, let’s talk about that packaging! A premium gold compact houses the gorgeous blush and it’s enough to give you a little heart flutter. When you lift the gold lid, you spot the blusher straight away, which has been embossed with some simple line details to bring it to life. The embossed Clarins logo just brings the whole thing together – it’s almost a shame to spoil it! The Autumn/Winter shade is called Golden Pink (shade 09) and it’s the ultimate perfection for creating a “healthy glow” as it’s a flattering golden-pink blush, in a ultra-silky, lightweight texture.

Lipliner Pencil* (£17.50)
Moving on to lips we have two lovely products and the first is the Lipliner Pencil. This is a lovely blend, which has been enriched with jojoba oil. This makes the pencil super soft, meaning you can get a really smooth application and help hold your lipstick in place. The pencils arrive in coloured packaging, which makes the colour inside and has gold details in the writing, lid and end of the pencil. I have the shade Red (shade 06) and it will be perfect for bridging our way towards Christmas.

The Graphik Ink Liner* (£21)
Let’s take a look at the star of the show – the Graphik Ink Liner – which Clarins claim is their stroke of genius! As you can see in the swatches below, this is a jet black eyeliner, which is technically carbon black, allowing it capture the light and promote deeper, more intense colour in one stroke. It arrives in the classic Clarins red packaging and inside you find a glossy black pen packaging. When you flick off the lid you find a soft, tapered, felt tip – it’s quite small which means you can deliver a precise and accurate line. The Graphik Ink Liner is available in one shade (01 intense black).

Joli Rouge Lipstick* (£20)
Last but certainly not least we have the Joli Rouge Lipstick, which is another beauty! The packaging is gold all over and is finished with the classic Clarins ‘c’ on a bevelled edge. As you twirl up the lipstick you can spot the gorgeous bullet inside, which is finished with the Clarins logo embossed into the colour. The lipstick is a blend of shimmer and colour pigments, which creates a high-shine lipstick. There are three autumn perfect shades for Autumn/Winter and they all are enriched with organic marsh samphire extract and mango oil to give softer, smoother and fuller-looking lips. I have the shade Deep Red (shade 754) which matches the lipliner almost perfectly!

This full collection will be available from August and I highly recommend checking it out! Let me know in the comments below which is your favourite product!
