Valentines Day Gift Guide 2016 + Buyagift Giveaway

Whether you like it or not, February is the month of love! With Valentines Day just around the corner, I've got several gift ideas to share with you all. I've searched high and low on the hunt for the best gifts to give. So whether you're shopping for your wife, husband, girlfriend, boyfriend or even your best friend - I've got something for you. The best news is that I've got a fancy giveaway from the folks at Buyagift, so make sure you read all the way to the bottom!

Beauty Gifts For Her

Lets kick this off with the beauty gifts! First of all we have a brand new scent from Bronnley, which is released this month. It's named Zealous Flower* (starting at £15 here) and it comes in the most gorgeous packaging. It starts in a white box with pink detailing, inside you have a black bottle finished with pretty gold letters. The fragrance created for the aspirational, imaginative woman, the notes include; night jasmine, delicate rose, pear and labdanum. It's a real mix of light and dark notes and it's truly mesmerising.

The brand new 'Instant Glow' range from Clarins is packaged beautifully and would make a great Valentines Day gift for any loved one. I'm particularly in love with the Ombre Iridescente Eyeshadows, I love the shade 'Silver Plum' (£19 here) and the Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in the new shade 'Plum Shimmer' (£18 here).

February's Look Fantastic Beauty Box* (£15 here) comes packaged in the prettiest bright pink box and it's finished with a pretty gold heart. The aptly named #LFLOVES box is perfect both for #DATENIGHT or #MATENIGHT, bringing you gorgeous products and amazing tips no matter your activity in two weeks time. There's products from Denman, KMS California, MONU, Lord & Berry, Bliss Spa and Hi Impact Brows. I think this is a pretty good selection of products and it's a great way to pamper yourself no matter what you're doing for Valentines Day.

I absolutely love the Wild Rose Sensations Valentine's Day Gift Set (£19 from Debenhams) by KORRES. It comes in really lovely packaging and inside you get three lovely mini products, all in the Japanese Rose scent. The set includes Shower Gel, Body Milk and Mandarin Lip Butter Stick SP15 in Rose.

In my eyes you cannot go wrong with some new nail polishes from Essie! Of course, being Valentines Day, I love these pretty pink shades! Style Hunter (£8.95 here) is described as a 'sharp crimson red' but I personally think it's closer to a gorgeous hot pink. Vanity Fairest (£7.99 here) is a more classic nude pink; it's sheer and pastel with a slight iridescence.

Rituals have a whole collection which is full of rose scented products for Valentines Day. However, my favourite item is Energy Bubbles* (£13.50 here) which is scented with Indian Rose and soothing Himalayan Honey. I don't think there is much better than being gifted a product that gives you some real pamper time. The bath foam is rich and creamy soft and leaves your skin feeling beautiful.

The brand new Gentle Exfoliating Toner* from Merumaya (£17.50 here), is the latest in exfoliating toners and it's been specially formulated for sensitive skin. Meaning that although it has the maximum level of Natural AHA’s, it's paired with moisturising active ingredients making it incredibly light on the skin. The skin looks brighter, smoother and it helps to minimise blemishes. It's a great little gift as it's a luxury product that doesn't break the bank and will work no matter your skin type.

Luxury brand NUXE have crafted their Valentine’s Day Gift Set (£20 here from M&S). It's worth £34 and it includes the Reve De Miel Ultra-Nourishing Lip Balm, Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Purpose Dry Oil and the Reve De Miel Hand and Nail Cream! It's a great for for anyone who needs hydration in their skincare routine and a bit of luxury.

Beauty Gifts For Him

For my man, a scent from Hugo Boss always goes down a storm. I think most people have a fragrance brand who seem to get it right with every single release. Hugo Boss Sport (prices start at £35 here) is a "high tech, energetic fragrance". The notes include pink peppercorn, yuzu zest, grapefruit, lavender, cardamom, aldehydic mist and vetiver, tonka-bean, patchouli. Hugo Boss fragrances are incredibly strong, so a little goes a long way and they always smell incredible.

Bulldog Skincare have recently released some new products that are fantastic for winter skin. The Intensive 24hr Moisturiser* (£9.99 here) provides 24 hours of moisturisation and is purpose-built for men. The Original Hand Cream* (£5 here) keeps dry hands well moisturised without feeling sticky or greasy during the cold winter months. The Original Lip Balm* (£3 here) contains mint, candelilla wax, castor oil and shea butter to moisturise dry lips. What I love about Bulldog Skincare, is that the products are purpose-built for male skin and they don't break the bank!

Lifestyle Gifts For Her

One of my favourite things to do, is check out the range of stationery items available in TK Maxx. I have no idea where they get their stock, but their shelves are stacked with the most gorgeous notebooks, paper and diaries. Often finished with cute quotes and stunning gold detailing. This Gold Stripe Notebook (£4.99 in store) is the latest addition to my collection and I think it would make a lovely gift.

I can never resist a Yankee Candle and I love when they bring out their collections for various holidays. Their collection for Valentines Day features the Red Raspberry Candle which has been topped with a heart themed lid (£23.99 here). If you're looking for a more budget alternative, Yankee Candle also have a set of five votives. The Valentines Day 5 Votive Set (£8.99 here) has Red Raspberry, True Rose, Pink Grapefruit, Fresh Cut Roses and Pink Hibiscus Votives.

Another lifestyle item that I could not resist is the 'Petals of Love Ring' (£50 here) from Pandora. I first saw this ring in America and I fell completely head-over-heels for it, I added it straight to my collection when I got home. It's a stunning silver ring with four hearts that make up a flower, finished with pave-set cubic zirconia stones.

If you're ever after a gift idea, I honestly think that ASOS is a great place to start. I'm completely in awe of all the gift ideas they have on site! I couldn't resist buying the Valentines Set Of Three Tins by Paperchase (£4.50 here). They are each decorated with a pretty Valentines Day pattern and I love the idea of filling these each with a little gift. The second item in my basket at ASOS were these Kissing Dinosaur Ankle Socks (£3 here), need I say more? They are adorable! The last thing I chose was this Marble Print Phone Case (£8 here), there are tons of different phone cases to choose from bit this one is lovely.

Lifestyle Gifts For Him

If you want to buy your man some stationery for Valentines Day, there is actually a lot of choice out there for the men too. I fell in love with the Nailed It Pad (£4.99 here) from ASOS, it's a little bit cheeky and it would cause havoc at work! Another great option is the range of stationery from Happy Jackson. I recently bought Chris the Serious Notebook (£7.19 here), but I also love the Panic Notebook (£7.19 here).

I think most men love a gadget and I think one of the most useful gadgets is a portable phone charger. I think this Racing Driver USB Car Charger (£11.50 here) from ASOS is a clever concept! It can charge two devices at once and it still looks cool in the car, especially if your fella is a racing fan. If you want an option that is less of a gimmick, I really like the Anker Portable Chargers (£17.99 here). They look pretty slick and they have a huge capacity, so you never get caught without charge!

This one is a little bit random, but if your other half is obsessed with shoes, he's bound to love this! The Sneaky Shoe Range (£20 here) is full of cleaning products to keep your shoes looking box fresh. Not only is this a clever, practical present, it also cracks me up with their funny names. My favourite is "Sneaky Wipes" - say no more. If you're like me and you can never resist a set of novelty socks, why not set your man up with this Heart & Arrows Sock Set (£25 here) from Happy Socks. There are three pairs in the pack, they come packaged in a nice box and they are really great quality. If you fancy a Happy Socks spree, you can enter VALENTINE12 at the checkout to save 12%.

A Present For Two

The last gift is something you can get to enjoy as a pair! Maybe you want to treat your other half to a surprise getaway, or maybe you fancy a spot of Afternoon Tea? The new Smartboxes from Buyagift give the gift of choice and the Perfect Gift for Two* (£79 here) would be perfect as a Valentine’s treat. The Smartbox allows you to choose from over 500 gifts, it's valid for ten months from purchase, so you get plenty of time to choose your activity and get a date in the calendar.
